Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks will be on the field for Wednesday night?s opener against the Cowboys. But he?ll be hurting.
Nicks, who missed much of the offseason, training camp and the preseason with a broken foot, says the foot still hurts, but it doesn?t slow him down enough that he would miss a game over it.
?I have no setbacks, I?m expecting to play the whole game,? Nicks told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. ?It?s a situation where you just gotta get used to playing with it. It?s not going to feel great, I know that, but it?s a matter of me having the desire and want-to get through it.?
Nicks, who had 76 catches for 1,192 yards last season, says he doesn?t see any reason he?d be any less productive this season.
?I think I just gotta deal with the pain, I don?t think I?ll adjust my game any,? he said. ?Whatever the scenario is, I?m just going to go out there and play hard. When I?m playing, it?s out of sight, out of mind.?
Putting a broken foot out of his mind won?t be easy, but that?s what Nicks says he?s going to do.
