Ninth-ranked Adrian College used a five run fourth inning to boost their lead over the Muskies and prevail with a 12-7 win over Muskingum University on Monday in Florida.
The loss puts the Muskies at 0-2 on the year.
Starter Colten Maxwell lasted four innings and giving up eight runs (six earned).
The Muskies answered at three-run Adrian second inning two runs in the bottom-half to pull the game to 3-2. The Muskies added two more in the third to take a 4-3 lead.
Adrian pounded across five runs in the top of the fourth to spread the lead to 8-4 and wouldn?t look back.
Will Simpson led the Muskie offense going 2-5 with 4 RBIs.
The Muskies are back in action tomorrow against ?Bluffton at noon, and again at two. Both of those contests can be heard on the Muskingum University Athletics page.
